Winter Artists Open Houses in Brighton and Hove

In Brighton and Hove, Artists Open Houses are getting ready to open for the winter season. At the end of November, homes and studios will open their doors for three weekends. The work of hundreds of artists and makers will be on display and available to buy.

Bluebell Would

I’m delighted to be showing my latest collection at Bluebell Would in west Hove. Bluebell’s home is always joyfully filled with art and gifts from over 30 artists. It’s a great place to shop as the festive season approaches. You can see a preview of the artists at all the venues on the Artists Open Houses website.

A new collection of mini art

The framed art I’m taking is a collection of seaside moments captured in tiny pieces.

Tiny art pieces like these need careful layers and thoughtful marks. There isn’t much room for error and I want to get lots of tiny details in each one to draw you in. They are small but full of intention and care.

Each one holds a seaside moment, a breathe of sea breeze or a sound of the beach. Every one grabs a moment that passes quickly and keeps it stored away for later, when it’s needed again to soothe or uplift.

I will be sharing a small limited collection of Powertex fairy cottages too. These mixed media ornamental cottages are only available at Bluebell Would and this year will be part of a fairyland display with other makers.

When are winter open houses open?

The open houses run in the city every May during the Brighton Festival and for three weeks in the winter.

You can follow along at Bluebell’s Instagram to get a preview of the artists and makers and the work available at Bluebell Would.
