The Tiny Sketchbook Project is completed! This project is just one of many sketchbook projects, seeded in Brooklyn Art Library and becoming significant, global, creative events. They really are for everyone and have sparked my creativity as a beginner and as more experienced artist and journaler.

There are lots of reasons why we keep art journals but for some of us, at least some of the time it’s a place to express our feelings. Sometimes we can do this with colour, images, patterns, quotes or lyrics. Sometimes we need to write, sometimes a lot! Sometimes we write but we want to obscure that writing in some way. This blog looks at ways of using hidden words in art journaling.
I love to have a regular journaling practice. It’s time to myself, dedicated to art making and a place to express myself freely. I can choose my materials, style, colour palette and words to suit my mood or situation.
